This is an extra service after color analysis that is well-loved by everyone.
After draping, you can (hygienically) try out your best shade of a well-rounded lipstick collection. They not only help us verify your color type but they are guaranteed to look perfect on you. You will get a swatch book with your favorite lipsticks that will help you choose the perfect lipsticks in the future.
The Lipstick Station at Luarg Studio
Do you have trouble finding your best lipstick shades?
This can be a daunting task because the selection in the shops can feel endless and the artificial lighting shows the colors differently. And how can you be sure which one suits you the best? Is there a recipe for this?
Most people in the drugstore do a few swatches on their hands and choose one of them. In the end it either works or not. There’s a better way!
At Luarg Studio, you can hygienically test a well-rounded lipstick collection to find your favorites:
๐ ‘nude’ shades for everyday situations
๐คฉ ‘fun&colorful’ shades for days you want some attention to your lips
๐ค and more daring ‘formal event’ shades as well.
The benefits of the lipstick try-on session
You might be surprised by what kind of lipsticks look the best on you. Some clients said they would never reach for the shades I gave to them to try on. And guess what, those shades turned out be the best for them.
โ You will receive a lipstick swatch booklet: your favourite shades on paper + the brand and shade name. Buying lipstick will become a no-brainer in the future!
โ You will be sure the color type you got after the color analysis is correct, because the lipstick try-on is the best way to check this.
โ You will try the lipsticks hygienically, worry-free in natural lighting which is a must and sadly this isn’t an option in the shops.
Each of these lipsticks are a typical example for a ‘colorful and fun but not too much’ sort of shade for each type. Of course, there are many more shades than this in the collection.
About the lipstick collection
It took a while to curate my lipstick collection. I tested many lipsticks in the shops like a maniac. (I have spiral-bound notebook full of lipstick swatches with post-its to navigate more easily.)
My aim was to create a practical collection without any brand loyalty. I chose bullet lipsticks that are easy to apply and remove hygienically.
The point of the lipstick try-on is to see several highly pigmented shades on your lips. This is the best way to see a lipstick’s full effect. This is not the place for overly shiny, semi-opaque or kiss-proof lippies but once you know which full-covarege lipsticks you like best on your lips you’ll be able to find sheer or liquid ones more easily.
The collection is:
โ A well-rounded range of more than 50 shades. It covers all the 4 color typeโs best shades.
โ Most lipsticks are vegan, cruelty free, made in EU.
โ The lipsticks you will try on are all affordable ๐ค and easily accessible anywhere in the Netherlands.
There’s no point to strictly categorize lipsticks by color types because the same lipstick can be good for many types. On the other hand, there can be huge differences from person to person who belong to the same subtype. Personal preferences are also a huge deciding factor as well, even more so than the color of clothing. After all, you wear your makeup directly on your skin.
Lipstick try-on step by step
Hygiene is a must: I scrape a small amount of the desired shades to a disinfected makeup plate and you can use an applicator to apply the product onto your lips.
We take a look how the shade looks on you and we talk about how you feel wearing it. Wearing lipstick is highly personal and the point is to find the ones you absolutely love to wear.
The point is to find the direction that works best for you, based both on your personal preferences and on what physically suits you the best, aka your color type.
After deciding about your favourite shades youโll get a lipstick swatch booklet, tailor made just for you. Buying for new lipsticks will be a breeze with your very own swatches.
The last photo shows a Winter (left) and a Spring (right) lipstick shade. I took the photo during a lipstick try-on session with a client who belongs to the Winter color type. On her, the left lipstick was beautiful, colorful, not too much – a similar effect I have with the lipstick on the right as a Spring color type. Quite a big difference, don’t you think?
